Value advice on 2012 R58 S
Hi everyone, I've done a lot of stalking on here over the past few years but this is my first post. I'm looking for some value advice on my 2012 R58 S. It was a hand-me-down from my grandmother, so I have no idea what it's worth. It's the press spec car in Chili Red with silver stripes, H/K stereo, and heated seats. All service records going back to 2015, 101k miles, just had a new timing chain installed, HPFP, thermostat and plastic pipe, spark plugs, Dinan ignition coils, valve cover, new tires, new brakes, water pump and pulley, serpentine belt, and new transmission fluid. Oil changed every 3-5k miles, and has all these mods: catless downpipe, intake, BOV, NM Engineering tune, EBC Bluestuff brake pads, slotted rotors, SS brake lines, Eibach lowering springs, intercooler, oil catch can, Whiteline rear swaybar, adjustable endlinks, Ireland Engineering camber plates, Megan racing front strut brace. I think the biggest downfall is that it is automatic :( Do you guys think it would be best to list it here? If so around what price? Or should I go local on FB Marketplace? Any advice is welcome.
I would look at the online car sales and see what they are going for there. Doesn't sound like a grandmother car with all the mods. Myself, when I am looking at a used car, I look for less mods. Usually, modified cars where done so not to drive like a grandma.
I'd agree with Dogface. I was just in the market and was looking for a R58 or R59 locally. Anything that screams mods was removed from my list of possibilities. Not that I wouldn't have done some of the mods myself but I would be in control of how they were installed and used. Mods for performance usually means the car was driven harder than one without mods. You really limit your buyers when you go all out like that.
I would list the car on a popular car for sale site and keep the mod description lite. Let them fall in love with the car first and then they can see all the extras. Also don't expect to get your money back on any mods you've done. Price it close to market prices without taking on dollars for mods they may not want in the first place. Just for reference, I ended up with a 2014 R59 S with similar miles as yours and paid around $8000. No mods but I'm making it to my 16 year old seft. I'm 56 in reality. LoL
