New to me 2012 n16 mini maintenance
I just bought. A 2012 n16 powered auto mini with 144,000 on the clock. Quite a nice car no dents rust or real wear. A friend on mine owns a wrecking yard and the car was there because of a bad engine. I was thinking I would need to find a replacement or rebuild what was there.
He dropped the car off with a rollback to my shop and low and behold the car fires right up, runs a little off for 5 seconds or so and idles well and seems to run fine. The rear coil springs were both broken , maybe that was the straw breaking the camels back?
I have pulled codes and the antilock traction control and some other lights are on. I pulled codes and got p1775 p1776 p1777 as well as p15c9 p15b9 and p15b8.
I haven’t driven it yet, as the rear springs came in today, but I have drained and changed the trans fluid, same for oil and pulled and inspected the spark plugs which were slightly carbon traced around the insulator, but pretty clean around the electrode,
The engine seems to be a bit sluggish just revving it up, but makes no concerning noises and the oil looked fine( no metal). I was thinking of checking the timing chain and related parts and possibly changing them as a preventative measure, What should I look for and replace? It looked like the coils were very clean and new, but maybe even old ones stay clean under that cover?

In doing a compression check what is the most common issue that causes low compression? Valves , rings, bore scoring or timing chain stretch? If it has low compression, it is low on all cylinders, as they all are running evenly.
