Mini R58 ISSUES!

Totally new to this,

I have had my 2012 r58 for about three years now. In the past couple months service issues have popped up constantly and I am a point where I can spend no more on repairs. It is Gray galaxy with two black carbon fiber stripes front to back. I will list everything I have done trying to solve this problem.

ignition coils
spark plugs
pulled the K&N air filter and thoroughly cleaned
new high pressure fuel pump
New thermostat
new front shocks and struts
front right wheel bearing
all brake pads have been recently replaced.

constant random misfire, loss of power in accelerations, deep deep throaty rumble. I’m at my wits end, I’ve got my eyes on the intake manifold. But I can’t to do any more repairs. HELP!

If it’s throwing codes, what are the codes? Just throwing parts at it won’t solve anything - you need to be methodical about what you do. The codes are like symptoms you will tell your doctor for him to help you out. If you want to keep the car, invest in a code reader that will pull the Mini specific DTCs, then post up what you’re getting out of the car.

”manufacturer control” “random multiple misfire”. And sporadically different misfires.

Those don't tell much of a story, other than the code reader isn't grabbing the Mini specific codes. What reader are you using?

Unsure

I don’t know. It reads the misfire codes, and I reset it. Within the past 5 months my mini has been in the shop and driven by mechanics. That’s how I found the wheel bearing, he noticed. I have over 5 thousand dollars into repair's. I do not do my own repairs. These codes have all been read by mechanics, I am working from the outside in.

Process

- plugs and coils first
- clean air filter
- fuel pump
- thermoatat
- plugs and coils again
- only premium fuel
- only full synthetic oil changes

If you're not doing your own work, I can understand your frustration. These cars are not cheap on the labor side when you're paying a mechanic.

could have bought MiniManAdams R53's for what the clubby cost plus the 3 years of maintenance. For me was a no brainer, just had to be the right one. Dont get me wrong, i have had to replace some gaskets, an axle, etc., she's 18 years old, but i'm at a tenth the cost.
