Shock Strut Absorber replacement

I need help how do I find out if my 2014 Mini Cooper S Coupe R58/SX31 has Sports Suspension? The original owner replace the spring to lower it (not even for mini its spring so skinny and was cut off) so I change it back to the original springgs then a few months later my shock leak… looking for replacement and i was if my coupe has Sports Suspension…

Here’s my suggestion…

Get the Bilstein B12 Pro-Kit package:
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-bilstein...46-180469~bil/

And pair it with this installation kit:
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-assemble...r-installation

Whether your car had the “Sport” suspension or not, with those two packages, you’ll be able to swap it out on a Saturday afternoon, and the car will feel much more planted and ride much better.

Anything that fits R56 will fit your car. If you only need shocks, I still suggest Bilstein. You could go B6 or B8 set. They have the same damping, but the B8 are specifically designed with a shorter stroke for lowering springs.

Use the Vin Decoder tab at the top of this page under "Tools." It should provide the detail you're looking for.

does 226 means my vehicle has sports Suspension? when I look for strut/shock absorber always asking for either my car is a standard or sport suspension. My car is in the Philippines and to purchase a parts in Philippines Mini Dealership the price of one strut is same as round trip ticket to US... It's Crazy... so Im buying it in US
I just need to find out if my 2014 Cooper S Coupe R58 has sport suspension ....Thanks for all the help in advance....

Does it have a button you can push that says “Sport” that pretty much how you can tell or not.

njaremka, normally I fully agree with your answers but, it does affect suspension, makes my butt cheeks tighten up getting ready to go fast. LOL
