2013 r58 N14 base model coupe using oil

My wife's 2013 R58 N14 Coupe has started using oil.
We bought the car as a CPO one owner with 3K miles on it.
It now has 22K miles on it' I change the oil and filter every 5K miles using Mobile1 synthetic.
A couple thousand miles back it started to use oil at about one quart every couple thousand miles.
I cannot find any oil leaks and there is no smoke coming out of the tail pipes.
What is causing this oil consumption and where is the oil going?
Any known remedy to this oil Loss?
Any help/information appreciated.
Thank you.

I can't tell you where it's going. But my 2007 MCS started needing a quart of oil added to it between changes after about 4-5 years. I kept it for 7 years 70k miles. My 2014 JCW Coupe was an N18 engine and it didn't need any oil added, I traded it in last year with about 55k miles one it.

Doesn't the base (i.e. non-S) have an N16 engine?

Check the PCV (part of the valve cover). Nice DIY at pelican. N16s are commonly fairly reliable.

I have placed an order for this replacement PCV valve. Thank you for the inform.
The oil loss came on sudden as in a failure somewhere rather than slowly so a failed device makes sense to me.
Years back I remember reading an article where if the inner seal on the vacuum pump were to fail the pump would literally suck the oil out of the engine. Have you ever hard of this happening?
Until I can get this excessive oil loss taken care of it would be risky to take this Mini Cooper on anything other than just short trips around town, so it does concern me.
I want to thank you for responding to my thread as it is very much appreciated.

Replaced the PCV valve and it seems to have solved the oil consumption problem. We don't drive the mini that much ( 20.000 miles on a2013 so far) so it took me a while to feel safe in saying this.
Again, thanks to all those who gave me pointers.
