R58 water in passengers side, engine cranks but does not start

water in passengers side, engine cranks but does not start

water got into passengers side of vehicle through roof/window, now engine cranks but will not start, any ideas? possible footwell module? Thanks in advanced

Yep. The bottom wire harnesses get wet and short out the relay on the module. Not too expensive to fix. Junk yArd or eBay for the part used.

it is called fuse box or JBE. the footwell module aka FRM is on the left side (drive). you could buy a used one with same part number OR of the same model car if you cannot find same part number box. it is recommended to code it so you may restore the functions specific toy you car.
lastly, try to clean the connectors and use dielectric grease.

Footwell module i bet. you can try to clean it like above and see if it works otherwise you will need a new one. Some have been covered under warrenty extension, but that is per VIN and with no physical damage.

If i find the thread one person fixed the rusted wire and connections an it worked.
