buy coupe JCW

I came across a '12 JCW coupe locally, was wondering what people thought of the price.

Car seems in good shape, 59000 miles on it, no lights on except for brake warniing light (prob the brake wire needing replaced)
They're asking 8500.- OBO, seems like a good price. Anyone have any thoughts? What's the coupe's go for compared to the bluebook value (or NADA)?

thanks,
fred

I'll let you look up the KBB/NADA values on your own since you have the best information, but at a glance that seems like a great price, especially for a JCW. Maintenance records are always a huge value add on a used MINI.

Without seeing it sounds like not a bad deal especially if it's a JCW. I really like the Coupe and now they seem to be harder to find.

I was thinking the same thing. =/ I had thought all R58s were N18 until I found one on craigslist.

N14 JCW Coupe I have is fine, its the end run of the N14 JCW in 2012. 2013+ They started on the N18. Thats a great price if its clean.

It all depends of how much you will have to spend now or in the future on the troublesome N14 engine. Otherwise, they are reliable if not abused.

2012 was the first year of the Coupe. I just traded in my 2014 JCW N18 Coupe (with Recaro seats), 49k miles, at Mini of Tempe for $11k. $8k for a 2012 low miles sounds good. It has the same turbocharger as the MCS I think just boosted up. Mine had a different turbocharger.

As far as I know the only JCW Coupes in 2012 were factory JCW's like mine and would have come with the N14 engine and larger 40mm turbo. I suppose its entirely possible someone could have had a JCW dealer kit installed on an N18 S model. That could have had everything with the exception of the larger turbo. I've just never run across one yet. I agree with TheBigNewt, that's a pretty good price. Hopefully the OP snapped it up.
