Mini Cooper Coupe 2013 Just got it 2 weeks ago.Couple days ago Started getting tail gate open on dash.At a stop light goes off soon as I take off it comes on again.Where does the signal come from???The tail gate is closed ,checked it more than once,Is there a plunger or switch. Anybody have this problem??would appreciate any input thanks in advance

Hello, Its might need adjusted on the latch as the R58 (i have one myself) is a little hard to get close solid, its just the nature of the lid i guess.

I had mine adjusted at the dealership under warranty, they spun the adjustment out and mover the latch around to better close.

Trigger switch is in the latch itself, so if the trunk shut fine and it fully engaged then its a bad trigger switch.

thanks For all the info ,lid shuts fine .I was hoping for an adjustment of switch that sends signal for light on dash.Doesn`t do it all the time.. thanks again I`ll look closer at the latch to get idea

By the way on the 2013 Coupe does the secret glove box open ,Mine moves about a half inch back and forth but thats it?????

 

Sorry just saw this, yes it should open. Push down then it should open up. Sounds like its loose.

 

I push in it comes back about 1/2 inch something jamming in there,,Good news is light is off for tail gate
