Talking Yet another JB+ discussion thread.. coupe specific though

Ok, so about two weeks ago I finally broke down and bought the JB+ for my 2013 Cooper S Coupe (automatic transmission, ALTA 3" JCW Downpipe Exhaust upgrade, factory air filter/intake). At $300, it's claimed to add 20whp and 30wtq to an N18 cooper.

YUP, worth every penny! WOT driving turns my S into what I imagine a JCW feels like (boost and overboost often and quick). On my way home from work tonight, I passed a highly modified and tuned Honda CRX. Yea, his turbo sounded crazy sweet and loud but my Bonnie kept up until we hit some traffic and slowed down. It was a fun and safe run but my little auto kept her own (again, I drive my auto like a manual in MT with SPORT On and DCT off/DSC on; feels like a manual minus the clutch w/full throttle control to redline).

Somethings I've noticed with my Coupe after the JB+ and break in 100miles.

-Raspier and deeper exhaust tone in SPORT and even more so in non.
-Engine temps run a bit higher in Sport mode (around 194F vs 178F w/o JB+)
-Throttle response and torque in all bands feel boosted. 2nd at around 3000 and then WOT is crazy fun and fast).
-Shotgun Pops when burpling and hot vs loud pops prior.

Thoughts or long term experiences using it?

I have 10,000 miles of hard driving on my JB+ at 100% with E85 blend
Zero issues. All our motors are the same, so it's no difference if it's a coupe or paceman

My '13 MCS has been using the JB+ for 10k miles and almost a year w/ no issues at all. Great gains for the $$. I haven't had any temp differences from stock. 0-60 stock was 6.7 sec. w/ JB+ went quicker to 6.3 sec. limited by stupid run flats. Long live the JB+! I have a buddy that has the JB+ also who has had same results.

When I was stock I ran 50%. Of course fuel octane and outside temps always play a factor in uping the Tune

That's perfect to hear! I've been thinking about ordering a JB+ for Broadspeed at some point in time. Perhaps I'll have to make that happen a bit sooner than later...?

Thanks for the post!

Why? Extended warranty? You can get an OBD2 flash tune for the N14.

@jimmy, are you sure about the temperature? I'm also always in sport mode and I see ~175F with the JB+. Now when I first heat up the temperature goes up to ~200F then it comes down to 175F and stays there.

I haven't heard much about it to be honest, what are the reviews like?

@Cerenkov it gets up to about 203F and then will drop down to about 194F. I'm going to take off the JB+ for a day or so and recheck the temps again and may even turn the JB+ to 40% vs 50%.

i'll post an update next week

I have had the JB+ maybe 6 months and maybe 8k miles or so, always has run about 30-40 degrees warmer than with it off, I have taken it off let it reset and temp runs normal at about 185. But with it on it stays at about 203-223, but its hot and humid in Texas.
