Perfect, thanks! When I looked at a Coupe at the dealer the USB and AUX plug wasn't where it is in your pic and that's one of the things I was trying to confirm. I much prefer it in this new location, with the old location it was a pain to plug things in.

Love the album art on the connected screen too, I'm going to have to go through my iPhone and USB stick and make sure album are is in for every album on there

 

How do you like the technology package?

 

I didn't notice that until you pointed it out, but you're right. On my 2012 R58, it's on the right side, mounted to the top of the opening (right underneath the switches).

 

i love it!! the Harmon Kardon sound system is very nice, loud and clear but i'm not an audiophile type.

Mini Connected works great w/my iPhone 4 and 4S; so if you have an iPhone its def worth it but if you don't have an iPhone then mini connected isn't really worth there isn't an android version yet.

However, USB media player functions work w/android and also via BT if your phone can stream audio over Bluetooth.

I haven't gotten used the voice commands since using the navigation **** in the middle works pretty good once you get a hang of the menu systems. i also got the navi and must say its amazing how much things in 6 years (my last 06 Si had navi but nothing like now).

let me know if you have any specific questions, i'm in the process of getting an OBDII cable and NCSExpert and in turn will be getting into programming/coding my Coupe. first task is to remove the VIM restrictions so i can play my music videos while driving and also removing the annoying warnings too

Very cool stuff, can't wait to play with Connected. I currently have an iPhone 4 but will probably upgrade to whatever comes out in July/August. One question I have, can videos be played from a USB stick just like music, or will video only work from an iOS device? In my R56 I usually play music from my 32gb USB stick since plugging in the iPhone really has no benefit but I'll probably plug the iPhone in more to make use of the Connected features like Driving Excitement and Mission Control at least until the novelty wears off

just a note though about my setup, i have every technology, mini connected w/navigation and the hk setup along w/premium and comfort packages. however i was wondering what the blank box was in the cubby area, i wonder if thats where the USB and AUX are for those w/o mini connected w/navi? i'd verify w/your ma just to be sure..

 

update: no go on videos on my 16GB usb drive. i could play music but no vids. i think certain android smartphones may work though, i can try my galaxy note2 another day.

 

Sold my JCW hood scoop from my R56 today, so I can order the black headlight/tail light/grill surrounds for my R58. Probably asking for trouble buying parts for a car I don't have yet but oh well

 

Hey guy , I did the same thing. Black head & tail light rings, turbo shield from NM, black side scuttles, wheels and taller tires, ect. Seems crazy, but these Minis kinda do that to you. Next is rear sway bar and exhaust, to sound more like my turned in JCW Hatch. Love the roadster, just like you're going to love your coupe. They're that fun.

 

Black line parts arrived today. So tempted to put them on my R56 but I'll be patient - my R58 left the factory for Southampton this morning.

 

My R58 arrived at the dealer yesterday but I'm still in England for another week. While on holiday here I've seen countless MINIs but just a single Coupe (a black/red JCW) yesterday in the railway car park. I've seen more Aston Martins (4 so far) than MINI Coupes! I expect I'll see a few more at the factory in Oxford tomorrow
