R58 Sportier hatchback or a cheaper Roadster?
Sportier hatchback or a cheaper Roadster?
Here are five reasons why I think MINI thought of a Coupe as a cheaper Roadster:
1. It has added weight due to bracing for top down motoring ...
2. There's no auto window-up, because canvas tops can't have pinch sensors
3. No grab handle can be attached to the canvas top
4. Seat belt anchors cannot be mounted to the B pillars
5. Stronger (and therefore noisier) heater fan
I do like my car, but I wish our Coupes were more a sportier hatchback and less a cheaper Roadster.

You are not driving the same car as me then. The points you raise do not compare to the sheer driving pleasure this car affords. I have an R56 and the R58 and out the two prefer the R58 hands down. Overall a more satisfying driver experience.
Not saying the Roadster isn't nice, just give the choice I'd go with the Coupe'r every time.
