When cometh 2016 convertible?

Hola wonderful Mini folks-
After some spy-shots emerged back in February, there has been no news on the new body/engine-having convertible that I can find.
I am starting to get concerned after Mini bowed out of NY show.
Looking forward to trading in my current R57 for the newer model.
Anyone have any further info. about release or anything else pertinent?
Thanks so much.
Enjoy the day...

Last I heard, the F57 was pushed to a 2016 release so that they could focus on the launch of the new F54 Clubman before year end

they are trying to come with a way to make it ugly and undesirable . Atleast that is what happened to the clubman.

Gosh, sorry you feel that way, my friend.
I admit it took some getting used to, but I'm actually diggin' the new convertible look thus far.
Any corroboration on its delay (he asks sadly)?
¡Muchas gracias!

I'm talking about the new clubman, I hope the new convertible does not go that direction.

The new convertible will look exactly like the F56 only....you know....a retractable roof.

I'm excited to see the new Clubman. The concept was beautiful and from what people who have seen the production version have said that the exterior of the production F54 is close to what the concept was. Spy shots seem to indicate the cockpit is similar to the F56 with the addition of an electronic parking brake instead of a handbrake.

I think the history on Mini Convertibles says a spring launch in Europe with US sales starting sometime later - that predicts 12 months from now for Europe, so don't hold your breath.....

This is very sad news indeed on an otherwise sunny Sunday...
Sigh.

I would say we are a bit less than a year away from the F57 Convertible.

My work is about 5 minutes from BMW/MINI headquarters and they are always doing Starbucks runs with upcoming or test vehicles. I'm happy to grab some spy shots as soon as I see it in town.

In fact, just on my way back from picking up lunch a few minutes ago, there was, what I thought, a F56 parked with camouflage front, rear, and roof. I didn't pay much attention because I am keeping an eye open for the new Convertible, but now that I think about it, it might have been the new Clubman.

Thanks ever so much.
That would certainly be delightful indeed!

Yes, I would be delighted to be wrong - and the F57 does seem to be production-ready rather early for next year.

On the other hand, I would curse, as I've just had my R56-only winter wheels refurbished, thinking I will need them next winter....
