Convertible question

I recently purchased my first mini cooper (2009 mini cooper jcw convertible). I noticed today while i was dreiving with the top up, where the B pillar would be (upper left hand corner) that the support for the top is coming lose.
I apologize for my inability to descrive it better, however i have no clue what the part is actually called.

My question is has any one experienced this before, and if so how did they remedy the problem. i am not looking forward to going to the dealership, but if i have to go, i would like to know what to expect (ie price).

I also apologize if this topic has been discussed in a perious post. i was unable to locate any information.

Thank for your help in advance

Ben

My 2010 passenger side is doing the same thing (though not as bad). I plan on mentioning it the next time I go in for service.

Not sure why you wouldn't be happy going to the dealership. Mine has taken excellent care of the few issues that have popped up.

Surprise surprise. My vehicle is still covered under the original manufactures warranty.
I'll take in on 8/22.

I purchased this car as a certified pre-owned. I need to figure out what they don't cover.

Just got back from the dealership.

They fixed the covertible top support bar under warranty. But not only that they are replacing my warped hood scoop ( add a heat shield). And moreover they are replacing the convertible trim.

I just have to stop by Friday to pick up my new painted hood scoop.
