First hour on the Openometer...check!

Just logged the first hour on the ol' Openometer...in Massachusetts...on the first day of winter. I suppose there's some advantage to global warming.

Yeah, we initally thought 50 degrees or above would be the point where the top goes down, but at highway speeds, it's still a little nippy. We hit 55 deg. today and it was a little breezy but tollerable.

Get yourself a wind deflector. With that, a warm coat, hat and gloves you'll put it down at even lower temps. I'm in Ct. and drove home in 58 deg. weather yesterday, nice! Enjoy.

I haven't had the top up yet. Mad Maxx now has 240 miles on him with top down all the way. Today was a really nippy 30 degrees with an icy bite to it. But if I go out the top goes down. I have my 3 lifesize gorillas with me and I love to see the other drivers smile. Just got my plate GR8APES.
Actually the major reason I bought the cabrio was for the gorillas to have their ride back. They used to ride in a BMW 330Ci before I sold it. I promised them they would have another convertible down the road.
Thank God for the seat warmers. Arizona does get cold and since we are a mile high we get snow too. Ugh.

Awesome! I don't have a cabrio but I've had the windows and roof open on cold sunny days. With a good coat, seat warmers and the MINI's fantastic heat running full blast you can pull it off and not be cold. I love fresh air when it's sunny out in winter!

OK, you win. I consider myself a hearty New England Yankee and I would ride my motorcycles (before I sold them for Hobbes) below 20 deg but it seems a little chillier in the car somehow. I have the wind deflector and I'll have to try that.

BTW, the pic looks great! Love the plate. I'm waiting for mine to come in.

I'm a Mass person too. I don't have a cabrio, but my sunroof is ALWAYS open. Even if it isn't fully open, it's always at least in the "popped" position. I love the fresh air.

Rain and drizzle this week, have kept us top up or in the big car, but we're top down as much as we can, even on chilly days. The seat heaters are great.

I love that color!!!

I'm a Connecticut Yankee, so I understand the weather back there only too well. I moved to AZ for my asthma 30 years ago. It's funny because out here the snow goes away fairly fast because of the dry air, but I don't drive in the snow a lot because so few drivers here know how to drive in it. Having 4-wheel drive is great, but if you drive on ice, it doesn't mean you can go fast. Better to let the snow melt and go out .
Usually our cold days aren't as brutal as back East because of the lower humidity, but the past few days felt more like Connecticut cold. We are so spoiled here with the sunny days. Can't wait for spring so Mad Maxx can go out every day. I hate seeing him just sitting in the garage--waiting to go out to play!

We live in AZ also, and it was really rainy this fall, so the top has been down regardless of the temperature. The car has a great heater.

We're going out later today top down. 50 degrees and sunny on New Year's Day...in Massachusetts. Kinda happy and freaked out at the same time.
