De-Badging rear ?

Hey everyone I am wondering if the rear part on our cars that has the Cooper or Cooper S logo is stuck on or taped on? Thinking of taking that part off to make the rear part of the car look cleaner and of course make it easier to clean and wax.

So hopefully those in the know can tell me if the letters just stuck on like I think they are. You never know if they have holes drilled in to the trunk to hold the letters on and I would hate to be half way into taking the letters off and find out that there are holes drilled in the trunk.

Cheers

On my Clubman, the Cooper S lettering was all just stuck on. Some dental floss or fishing line will be your primary tool for removal. A heat gun can also be helpful.

Good luck!

Nobody drills anymore, they rust. I removed mine to make space for the boot stripes, carbon fibre. Get some GooGone and a hair dryer and they will be just a distant memory.

Cool I thought they were stick on type but wasnt sure. My GTR I took off the Nissan emblem off and it made the rear look so much better. Great and thanks for the quick answers

Cheers

Dental floss after having the car parked in the sun for an hour did it for me. Nail polish remover works great to get off the residue (Thanks honey! )

I put a piece of masking tape over the letters before I peeled them off to hold them in place. That way if I ever want to put them back on, it won't be so tricky getting it to look right.

Fishing line took the letters off and WD40 took off the adhesive. Super fast and super easy

what if the nail polish remover or wd 40 removes the clear coat. Glad it worked for you though. Post a photo to show the clean boot look.

GooGone is safe for all types of clearcoat. WD40 should be but thats a bit of a risk in such an obvious location.

I have a GP and I removed my Cooper S emblems. First I used a hairdryer and then when the emblem became somewhat moveable I used dental floss and used it as a sawing formation. After I the whole emblem came off I used my fingers and rubbed off or peeled as much as I could then whatever double tape residue was left I used nail polish remover then once all removed I waxed the area.

I have had the GTR for 3 years now and it is probably one of the best driving cars I have ever owned. I have had zero issues with the car out of the 21,000 miles I have driven it. I have only done intake, exhaust and Cobb ECU. Power is everywhere and usable. The way I have it set up it is a mid 10sec 1/4 car. I also recorded a 2.89 0-60 in it on the stock Bridgestone runflats too. My only issue with it is it gets way to much attention even after owning it this long. I have had a E55, SL55, Carrera 4S, subie STI, toyota Supra turbo(800 whp) and it is by far the most enjoyable out of all of them to drive
