Intense Heat

Has anyone noticed how intense the heating system is? Even the seat heaters are SUPER hot...good when its so cold (even in North Carolina) but it was very surprising!

Yeah. I don't recommend you wear shorts and turn on the heated seats to high. (learned from experience)

I've had heated seats in various BMW/Mercedes for nearly 20 years.
None of them heated up as fast, or got as hot as my 2009 MINI Cab, they're amazing.

Close enough Not an actual burn, but enough to keep the area red for a few minutes...

Perfect

I think the seat heaters are perfect. I turn em on high and leave em on high until I am nice and toasty. i don't think they are too hot. It's great for my backside. (I havent tried them with shorts. I typically don't wear shorts in the wintertime.)

What a treat.

They are way too hot, even on the lowest setting - frankly I can't tell any difference between any of the settings - they're all too hot after a few minutes, even on a very cold day.

My wife's Audi has 6 different temp settings; on a cool day setting 1 provides just a nice warm glow; on a really cold day, setting 3 will keep you very comfortable. Point being, there's a noticeable difference between the settings and you have to really crank them up before they get as hot as those in my '09 MINI.

I had the dealer check mine and they say they're "normal". I'm looking for another solution, such as a resistor to try and cut them back a little.....

As to the heating system itself, I also have mixed feelings, but I can get comfortable if I mess with the settings a bit, and yes - it puts out a lot of heat - once it gets warmed up.

I like the temp of my heated seats. The highest setting gets really hot but it's not bad when you've got pants and a coat on. Any other time when it's not 2 degrees outside I'll have it on the 2nd setting.

i think the difference between the 3 settings is very noticeable. i usually have it on 1 when the top is up. i love that it can get so hot.

The seats never feel toohot when driving with the top open on low 40s/high 30s morning (well that's the coldest it gets where I live).

Well, see that's why I took it in to the dealer, I thought maybe something was wrong with them, cause 3 lights on seems just as hot and uncomfortable as 1 light on, and the ones in my '03 are not like this - there's a distinct and noticeable difference between the settings.

I have an infrared thermometer, I think I'll check them myself.....wonder what the temp number is supposed to be?
