JCW exhaust on an '09
Purchased the JCW exhaust offered froma member here Kudo's to orange Crush for his superb service. I have a May 2009 build MCS convertible. The JCW does not fit directly without creating "spacers" to prevent the structure bars from hitting the exhaust. We noted many different easy modifications that could have been done by the fsctory. Interstingly according to Mini etka says the part number for the JCW exhaust is the same for the convetible and hard top/ Either they don't relize, they don't care or there is a part in development. Basicall the brach needs to come down roughly 3/4 of an inch unless anyone has any thoughts

Since the JCW exhaust (stage I) exhaust simply slides OVER the stock exhaust pipe, there is no reason for it to hit the brace.
The brace should be in front of where the stock exhaust connects to the JCW stage I kit.
My suggestion is to make sure the hangers in the rear don't need to be tweaked to raise the rest of the exhaust because honestly there is no reason for it to hit. (just to clarify, it might need 1/8"/1/4" spacer but no way should there be a 3/4" difference)
If you can't get it and wish to stop by my shop, let me see if I can tweak it for you.
