Alright Interchange Yellow owners, we all know that Interchange Yellow is the best color coming out of Oxford. Time to show it off some. Post some pics of your Interchange Yellow R57 here.

Ladies and Gentleman, we have a badge!

And here are my pictures. These were from April, but I've done some updates since then (ie. JCW Side Scuttles, JCW Engine Tuning Kit, Factory JCW Shift ****, etc...)

Agreed! I'll post some photos when I get a chance, but for now I'm too busy learning all about the car to take pictures.

I had an '05 S convertible but there are so many changes and upgrades on this one. I'm really glad I owned the other car, it helped me learn which items were important to me and which I could live without.

Mine's making all the strange noises that others have experienced. I'm really happy I found this forum to keep my SO from totally going paranoid over everything. I only hope this car is as trouble free as my old one.

I just happen to have the sticker right here.

2009 Mini Cooper S Convertible:
Interchange Yellow Body Color, black top
Premium pkg:
Chrome Mirror Caps, Chrome line exterior, Chrome line interior
Auto AC
Alarm
Leather Sport multi function steering wheel
Sport Pkg:
Xenon headlamps w/ power wash (a must have option!)
Dynamic Traction Control
White turn signals
17" Black STar Bullet wheels (totally awesome wheels!)

6-speed manual
DSC
Fog lights

Center arm rest
Black/Grey leatherette
Interchange yellow interior surface (much better than those wavy silver checks)
Black sport stripes (I like them better than the original bonnet stripes)

That's it for options. In retrospect the only thing I regret not getting is the backing assist. Although sight is much improved it still isn't great. And yea, this is the BEST color, much better than the previous yellows offered IMO.

And if the rumors hold true, when the 2009 Convertible goes EOP in August (2 more months), Mini may retire the Interchange Yellow color. That would mean our color is very unique.

So if the "retire of Interchange Yellow" is true, then I wonder what color will replace it when the 2010 Convertibles arrive in September?

NOTE: The SOP and EOP dates were listed on Dealer Bulletin#: PB-12-17-08. SOP (Start of Production) was Dec 2008, and EOP (End of Production) was Aug 2009 which I assume means the end of August, so that's why I speculate that we'll see the 2010 Convertible come September.

And the only one things that we sort of know is that Mini will get a much upgraded HIFI system and possibly that center console refresh. I'm hoping for a rear-view camera that maybe we can retrofit into our existing R57s.

Looks like Gabe confirmed the new HIFI this morning.

I don't think Interchange Yellow will get taken away in 2010. With MINI making it the color of the R57, all the promotional images use that color, I don't think they'll be so quick to phase it out. I would LOVE to have it be end of life'd, just to have one of those one off colors, but I just don't see it happening.

LOL Yeah but you did order one. When is it supposed to be here? Are you trading in the Cooper?

It should be here late July/early August. And yes, my current Cooper is going to find a new mommie and daddie.

So if I can quote Jeremy1026, "...we all know that Interchange Yellow is the best color coming out of Oxford..."

Quote: I definitely like the matching child seats
So, not quite matching, but the sun does make it seem so. They are actually a cream and black in color, and the kids love it.

I would also point out that having two toddler seats in the Cabrio can bring out two emotions in people.

Congrads. So you'll have it very soon. I'm curious as to what your JCW Engine Badge says.

I will be sure to post it up as soon as I get it new Thursday/Friday

I edited my 2nd post in this thread to include a picture of my MINI, instead of my order sheet

I just noticed that when I scrolled up accidently. Looks awesome. So you went with the Factory Aero kit. I like the IY color body panels that would normally be black...

I had to go factory aero kit. I can't stand the constant battle to keep my arches black on my current MINI.

Very nice. Congrads on your new IY Yellow 09 Cabrio. So, now for the hundreds of questions (ok, actually just less than 10).
  1. What does your JCW engine badge say?
  2. I like your placement of your front JCW engine badge. It's in the factor JCW location. Excellent choice. On the rear, it's on the opposite side of a factory JCW. Was that your choice, or did the dealer insist on putting it there?
  3. Any ideas if you have the new passenger door weather striping, the one that doesn't come off with the slightest touch?
  4. Did you get to keep any of the parts that were replaced when the JCW Tuning Kit was installed?
  5. Have you ordered your JCW Brake Kit yet? If you don't mind me asking, what did it cost you (parts + labor)?
  6. Your MA was Alison, right? Next time you visit the dealership, ask them if they are willing to sell that "John Cooper Works - Keep It Wild" wall flag/banner. I'd be interested in it
  7. Time to update your signature, right?

1. To be perfectly honest, I never popped the bonnet. I will do it tomorrow morning. Edit: It starts with R56 then has the kit number (which I don't remember off the top of my head.
2. I never even spoke to the dealer about badge placement. They put it on the lower grill (where I really wanted it) and on the left side (also where I wanted) without me having to ask. I was worried it would come in the upper grill.
3. No idea, I'll peak tomorrow, I only was in the drivers side tonight. Edit: Didn't seem to just pop off.
4. Yep, the exhaust and intake fit in the back seat of my mom's Altima, in the box.
5. Didn't do the brake kit yet, going to wait a month or two, see if the stock brakes do the job well enough, or if it would all be for bling.
6. I have to speak with Alison tomorrow (the car doesn't have the stripes I ordered, it actually took 5 hours after I took delivery for me to notice. ) I will ask her for you then. Edit: She said no, all their posters and wall hangings are not for sale.
7. In due time, I still have a big emotional attachment to Itercide, I'll have to make a signature that features both.
