Yea. I should have just edited the response and removed the picture with the top up and asked 'what picture?'.

I can safely say that it has been down every minute thus far w/in 5-10 yards of my garage or the guy who just put on the clear bra.

I think my wife and I have put a little over 15+ hours on the openometer thus far.

I even picked up a used wind deflector to make the ride less windy at high speeds for long rides. Should also come in handy on chilly days I'm told.

Awesome R57. I did notice that you're missing the JCW badge on the front. Did the dealer miss installing it when they did your JCW Aero Kit II?

Now time for some CF accessories, right?

Something happened with the badge. What happened with it, I do not know. If it was a miss, I think it was with the VDC as they did the install.

Just got a call from my MA today after some others here helped to bring to my attention that I should have gotten one. So it should be reconciled by early next week.

I guess I have a stupid newbie question & am embarrassed to have to ask - what is CF accessories?

Not sure if Hardtops are allowed in this thread, and in fact, this isn't mine, but I haven't seen many (or any) IY hardtops, so I figured you guys would be interested in seeing it (it was at a Toronto-area dealer):

I think it looks so much better on an R57 than a hardtop...

Alright folks. Time for a vote.

Is this thread for R57's only, or do we want to allow the hardtops?

I vote that we keep it R57 only.

Badge problem rectified with dealership.

Thinking about changing rear defuser from the IY body color to the carbon fiber - price is going to making me have to push this change out a bit though

I would LOVE to have it be end of life'd, just to have one of those one off colors, but I just don't see it happening.
Guess Mini surprised us all. Interchange Yellow goes EOL in Dec 2010. So it's was unique from April 2009 until December 2010. Just over 1.5 years.

Guess we are part of the exclusive club now.

Well now that you mention it just now being put on the R56s, isn't it surprising that they would discontinue the color this quickly?

I'm with you all, it doesn't bother me that they sunset it. I wanted a more unique car to begin with. This just helps it stay that way. I'm only aware of 3 or so in the metroplex and all slightly different e.g. Base S aero kit, body color body kit, etc.

Oh well - Their loss, our gain.

So it looks like you guys don't want any R56s in the IY club, but I thought I would just test the waters, because I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my IY R56, just ordered on 6/10, and this is the only IY club there is...

I get that you are all very possessive of the color as it was only available on the R57 up til now and Mini is discontinuing it at the end of the year so it's very unique, but I was hoping maybe you might consider accepting an R56 who loves IY.

I haven't come across anyone on NAM yet who actually owns an R56 IY...

You're so far the only R56 that has admitted to owning an IY

Well maybe I can be the one honorary R56 in the club, kind of like the class misfit. My config is:

MC IY with black roof
manual
sunroof
anthracite headliner
piano black interior
auto-dimming rear view mirror
cold weather
comfort Bluetooth
15" rotator spoke wheels

Very impatient for her arrival!

Too cool, I ordered my IY on 6/10 also (but mine was of 2009.) If your build goes the same as mine, your birthday should be 6/30, and it should be at your dealer on 7/12.

I would be completely ecstatic if it arrived by July 12th. I have to drive up to LI on the 16th for my brother's 30th birthday celebration and it would be the greatest thing if I had my mini in time to take it up there so my family could drool over it. Everyone is quite jealous.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up though, it hasn't even been scheduled for production yet.

In the first week I had over 7 hours with the top down... and that was with storm after storm after storm hitting Chicago...

Yes the MINI will survive pea sized hail with no problem...

Yes the MINI will drive through flooded streets with 6-8" of water standing (not recommended but it beat sitting in a parking lot durring a tornado warning)
