Introducing Pooper (#2)

I got it on Friday on a horrible San Diego day. Was raining the whole time. Didnt even get to test the moonroof for noise since i could not open it and even if i could, i could not go fast enoght because of traffic. due to my persistence, the MA called me a little early. pretty much when it had been taken off the truck, so delivery took a long time.....

They let me put 4k on the credit card, and sold me parts at 15% off. I probably should have waited and get them online at 20% but had to get some mats for the rain.

Had some trouble with the new clutch in stop and go traffic. it would jerk back and forth when i had it in first with no gas.
Thus far i found 3 "problems" with the car.
1. I have a small chip on the horizontal plane of the back bumper. could be covered by the bumper protector.
2. small area on the roof with swirl type scatches. i tried to get them out with my detail but failed. heck, maybe i even put them there!
3. the black plastic that is just in front of the passenger side window has a small mar on it. luckily it is not on the face, but on the side. no idea how to get it out. i almost took my dremel tool to it with a soft tip but decided i would wreck my 1 day old car.

I was a week 11. The car made it over on Figaro and was delivered to US soil on April 7. I picked it up on April 20.

- my "secret" compartment opens
- i had a jack even though my MA insisted that i would not.
- no wind noise with the roof. have not used it much though, and have only been up to about 75mph.

So, I shall call him Pooper. The reason for the (#2) in the title is because there is already a Pooper on NAM. I have emailed him and asked if the name was OK.

Nice interior choice. Did you notice the problems before you left the dealer? Certainly didn't notice anything wrong from the pics, great car. Congrats.

Congrats! Hope you enjoy many miles with Pooper (#2)!

The sunroof issue is with the roof closed, not open, and apparently there is a fix if you have a problem--check for the latest thread...

I found a couple of things at the dealer. 1 was a scratched area on the piano black door ring that some polish got out. The second was a 6" line on the black wheel arch. They said that the car had not been prepped yet and that it would come out. when they brought it to me for delivery, it still had the mark. they wrote a due bill to have some sort of bumper protection stuff put on.
I havent checked but i think that i may have gotten rid of it with Mothers Back to Black.

even though i did spend good time inspecting, the other things got through. i dont think the chip on the bumper was there and must have happened after. i'll need some touch up paint anyways.

my MA was kind of annoyed...."are you trying to find things wrong with the car?"

i said yes because it was their car, not mine yet.....

That is a very obnoxious thing for the MA to say. End of story.

I think your car's name deserves a story of its derivation (Ok, you covered the #2 part!). Got one to share?

The reason is really just that it rhymes with Cooper. obviously. other than that, it goes with my wifes abundant openness for anything dealing with that bodily function. For example, the willingness to talk to strangers at the park about "expressing the **** glands" of a dog when it seems to be having dificulty....

I dont want to see this thread turn into something else.....

On another note, i went to my local Costco to pick up a few things. it really made me realize how darn small the mini really is. I am replacing a 2 seater honda Insight but that thing held a LOT of stuff! Many times we would whell out of Costco with an overflowing cart and could somehow manage to get it all in. We had only a couple of things and i had to use the back seat.
(i didnt want to put the seats down and i didnt tilt them forward....)

Thanks all!

Oops, duh! I guess I was aurally challenged there on the rhyme.

Putting the seats down does make a huuuuge difference and only takes 2 seconds. I got a whole small patio set in this past weekend!

Welcome to Pooper II.

I hope the weather clears soon in San Diego so that you can enjoy some open air motoring. It was a loooooooooong weekend as the skies seemed to remain overcast and threaten rain, which meant top-up driving for me.

Be sure to give a wave if you see a blonde in a CR MCSC...I'll be looking for you
