Lock Programming Question

I would like to set up the lock program to unlock both doors and the boot with one press of the keyfob button, and then have all of them remain unlocked until I get out of the car and press the button lock button.

Is this possible?

Not as far as I know with the standard fob as per how mini intended it to be. Might be able to get someone to mod it though.

Yes, it's in the manual under personal profiles, pages 18-23. You can program the keyfob to unlock the entire car with one press of the keyfob (or you can have it unlock the drivers door with one press, and then the entire car with two presses, which is the way I have it set up). And you can program the car to turn off your central locking system so the car will not lock when you reach 12 mph or after some time or both. What you cannot program (but you didn't ask about) is having your car automatically unlock when you turn off the car. The R53's did this and I do miss it.

.....what about the annoying action of having to pull the door handle twice (once to unlock the door, once to open the door) to get out after a drive. how does one change this to one simple action.

If you have an R56 you can't change that. You can unlock the car with the toggle switch first, but I never remember to do that. I believe on the R53's the dealer was able to change that for you, but, again, it's not an option for the R56's.

You could program the car to not lock the doors when you drive off (page 22 of manual).

Right, but if the car is locked, you'll always have to pull the handle twice to open.

My Passat had the same feature. I always thought it was cool that you just had to pull the handle twice to open the door instead of having to reach for the unlock button.
