Before and after (17 year old driver)

 

Hi guys! Just ordered new wheels (17inch White TD Pro Race 1.2s) and the JCW honeycomb grille insert for my MINI. Oh and some black jack valve stem caps. :D Next on the list is the lowering springs.

I wish our commutes were that short. I'd rather not put 20k miles on the mini every year. And yeah, at least the accident gives opportunity to change a couple things, so it's not ALL bad.

Me too. And my 20k includes parking it for the winter. :(

 

Everyone is fine. Seatbelt was on. I think she overcompensated for car cutting corner, put wheel up on bank and the rest is history. Car is dead though.

I'm bummed because Oxygen Blue is such a cool colour and I think it was spec'd just right. We do have a 2007 Cooper S under deposit - it doesn't look as cool, despite the checkers here and there...but watcha goin' to do?

 

Glad to hear everyone is ok. I figured there had to be some kind of bank or median involved in order to roll the MINI.

Anyway, I agree about Oxygen Blue, it's a great color for sure. The new-for-2011 color 'Ice Blue' is relatively similar in that it is a non-metallic light Blue, but it's not a bold as Oxygen Blue I don't think.

I agree. I saw some photos of the Ice Blue at a dealership and it looks like a very nice color. Not as bright as O2 Blue but similar. Looked like a very nice solid sky blue.

 

I haven't seen it in person yet and wasn't brave enough to order before seeing it.

So gone for a used (dull) chili red. It is pretty loaded and will have a bit more grunt being an S so it will do. I needed rear fogs and xenon's which is hard to find used believe it or not.

 

Gosh Stu...I don't know what to say??!! My Heart sank seeing one of Molly's Brothers/Sisters sittin' upside down. Glad everone is ok though, also glad you are sticking with the NAMily!!

 

When I arrived at the scene I already knew that the driver was (relatively) ok but did not know the extent of the accident. My heart sank too when I came round corner and saw it on it's roof.

I often said that I thought we had got the specs just right on that car and wanted to keep it forever...okay, slightly bigger wheels would have been nice, but still. I could get 45mpg getting to and from work. It was perfect as a commuter car.

Not having the Oxygen Blue option anymore put me off ordering a new one - and no used ones have been just right. As everyone knows, each Mini is unique...but I had to have rear fogs to avoid having the blank switch. The Cooper S has great options and is the right price - if not the colour I would have ideally liked. The gearbox is actually being fixed under warranty at the moment before we pick it up. I am looking forward to giving it a good drive...

Mmmmmm.... Lotus Elise. Another lightweight, great handling British car I'd like to own one day. Very nice.

 

Thanks..yeah we are all a british car family, with the 3 minis and the Lotus. Though we traded the S2000 and recently got a new retractable hard top Miata.

Wouldnt miss it! We had a blast last year and have a cabin reserved for this year.

Last year there were 4 total OB MINIs at the Dragon, iirc. Ours, Agent Cooper's, and a couple more.

Maybe we'll beat that number this year!

Great! Amber and I were posting on another site and were thinking we should really plan to get all the OB MINIs together for a group picture or something. It would be cool even if there were only a few of us. We'll set a new world record!

 

My boyfriend and I can't decide which MINI to bring (he has a Pepper White) -- but if we take mine, I'd love to do a group picture. Even better, I'd actually love to meet you this time. Haha.

 

Hey guys! I saw a 'Surf Blue' Countryman in the flesh last night at the Pittsburgh Auto Show. Looks VERY similar to our Oxygen Blue but darker... or "oxygen blue for guys" as my friend put it. I like it!

Ok, so Today marks my 48th Birthday, one I almost was not able to Celebrate due to Heart Surgery in March of last year, BUT on a HAPPIER note it also marks Molly's 3rd Year Ordering Anniversary...Molly is L@VED even more today than on that day!!

 

Yeah, I didn't actually MEET any OB owners last year! We should all get together even if we don't all have our OB MINIs.


There was a classic Mini color called Surf Blue that was CLEARLY the inspiration for OB, and I actually think the classic surf blue is closer to OB than it is to the new Surf Blue.


As always, love the stance and white s-lites.
