R56 Official Oxygen Blue Owners Club
ah it is good to be back and back in my mini!!!! i was in canada from sunday to wednesday night and i thought i was gonna freak! longest i've been without GEMINI since i got her... i dropped her off at the dealership so she could chill w/ her breathren and get some computer updates and a boot/bumber guard thingy to keep me from nickin her behonkus... i'll post pics as soon as i catch up on my sleep...
Well good ta see ya, mommashine!!!
Glad you and GEMINI got reunited....you know what they say about absence!!
I got to show-off yesterday with some co-workers who had heard of (plenty), but never seen, my MINI. They loved Oxygen Blue, thus demonstrating their exceptional sense of aesthetic awareness, above average intelligence, and overall good taste.

heh... yeah, a friend of mine was in town yesterday from San Francisco and it was the first time he had seen GEMINI... i was like, ' doood come c my car' and he was like 'but it's a mini... i see them everyday'... then he saw the color and was like, 'woah' :-D
btw... i saw 65498761546844354 (approx) minis in canada... they were EVERYWHERE!! they looked at me so funny bc i wasn't in mine so when i freaked out waving/screaming/pointing they just gave me the 'look'

Hey all,
I've been busy...motoring. So, sorry for the delay. You understand.
We're no longer wannabe MINI owners. We got our oxygen blue baby on Thursday, October 18th (18th October if you're European). Here are some pics. The oxygen blue color looks way better in person than on the computer, as if the computer's color palette is not sophisticated enough to capture the delicate subtlety that is Oxygen Blue
. I was blown away when I saw it.
I'm not a big fan of chrome, though. The front grill is just a chrome fiesta. Too much. I'd like to black it out, but the wife likes it. She thinks it makes the car look "happy". Sigh.
The "boot" stripes were a last minute call. I liked the way they complete the look. An OCD moment, perhaps. And we went with the standard interior, because we thought it was cool enough as is, and the price was right.
This car is so much fun to drive. Sport mode is so cool it's ridiculous. I can't imagine how great it would be to drive a Cooper S. In fact, when I did my original test drive, I avoided the S altogether ( for price purposes, mostly ) and because I didn't want to be spoiled or tempted. Repression seemed to be the best medicine
.
Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as We enjoy the car.
Now to change my sig!

[quote=gokartride;1604529]Okay, this is a call out for jedorme and Blue Skies.........got MINI?!?!?!?!
Hello gokartride et al., Sorry for the lapse in activity but we are in the process of bringing our RV, tow car & O2B MC back down from central Oregon to the CA desert for the winter. Right now we're in a KOA outside of Barstow with our Mini tucked in next to our coach. My wife is driving her Mini with me at the helm of coach pulling tow car. So we have been taking short days with lots of visiting family & friends on the way. Unfortunately not much opportunity to get online.
Over the weekend in Bakersfield we ran into another Mini owner parked right next to ours - it was a Sidewalk edition convertible, first I have seen & quite a stunner. The owners had never seen an O2B before and so we had fun passing complements back & forth. Also in Gilroy, CA (south of San Jose) we pulled up next to the first other O2B MC we have seen since we took delivery in Las Vegas & have travelled all over the pacific northwest & now much of CA. It had a white roof & stripes so wasn't exactly like ours.
Tomorrow our Mini will arrive at her desert home where she will motor only in the sunshine - no more raining days driving which we have had many this summer. And I will try to be a better poster guy in the future!

No problem...glad you're having such a wonderful trip!!! I admit, I have never seen another OB motoring about...that would be a shocker!!!
touch up and mini credit card!!!
I got ANOTHER mysterious set of scratches on GEMINI!!!
it looks like a dog jumped on the drivers door right above my handle (so that I see it EVERY time i get into GEMINI) and left me a forever remembrance of the claws god bestowed upon him.... so i called Brian Harris BMW/MINI and they said it's STILL not available... so i called ASK MINI and when i almost started 'crying' about my baby, they said they'd call the dealer and straighten them out and get me some touch up... heh... being a woman does pay off... :-D
also, they FINALLY have our color on the mini credit cards... woot woot... applied for mine today... cross ur felanges for me... ;-D

*bows* oh wow, I uh, I don't know who to thank first... I, well, I guess I should give a shout out to my oxyblue peeps... without them, surely I would have the coolest car in the nation... god of course, for giving me the power to go after what I wanted no matter how tempting the night fire red was... and I guess I could thank my husband, but he doesn't like minis...
remember, you all have the power to rise to greatness...

Bad news....after only having my Oxygen Blue Mini for about 2 1/2 months, I had an accident last Friday. Thankfully, I'm okay...but my Mini is not. Of course, my tough little car took a beating but I literally wasn't hurt at all. I wasn't even sore the next day. And I have been assured that my Mini will be fixed in 2-3 weeks and be good as new. Also, in the midst of my depression over hurting my car, Mini has been great! I live about 200 miles from my dealership (and it's the closest dealership) but Mini roadside assistance towed it to the dealer's body shop for free. And my Mini dealer has been great too, even offering to monitor the repairs for me since I'm so far away. In the meantime, I'm driving a rental Mitsubishi Galant. It's too big - it has this crazy thing called a trunk!! I want my Mini with it's little boot back. :-(
yeah well... what can ya do
MINIESQ: so sorry to hear of your unfortunate event... glad that ur ok, and that ur mini advisors are takin great care of you... i know ur hatin that gallant now, but just think how much more u will appreciate ur mini when it comes home from the hospital...

Ok, here is the update on the latest Oxyblue Accessories... I've been a little behind on it so here it goes:
This and the next one are keychains that my Mom picked up for me that I put on some elastic w/ oxy blue beads I found...

This is a pic of my back seat... the blanket and stitch came from a thirft store and the sunshade (i may have already posted the pic of it before) from ebay...

Here is my new favorite dinner plate, also from a thrift store...

And here is my hubby's new toy... It's name is Fenrir...

Oh and here is a pic of my new addition... I got the bumper protection installed while I was in Canada...

Thanks for everyone's support....please keep it coming because I got more bad news yesterday.
Apparently, when the insurance guy really looked at it, something was cracked underneath, which puts the repair costs too high and, under my state law, my Mini is a total loss. *sniff, sniff* I have to admit - I've shed more than a few tears over the loss.
I've already started talks with my dealer for ordering a new one, though. I'm ordering the exact same car - same color, same year, same options - and I'm hoping the dealer will give me another good deal. Since I'm ordering, and I'll have to wait about 6 weeks (the wait was so hard the first time...), I'm going to go ahead and order the car while I'm waiting on the insurance check to come in for my poor dearly departed.
