Here's the question straightforward.....

Apparently, I worded my question wrong the last time and the thread went off in another direction.:impatient

So, here's my question, straightforward. When you push the stop button, the engine turns off, but the accessories stay on. Is there a way to turn the accessories off without taking the key out of the slot? If I push the button again, the car starts up again, so that isn't it. I don't have the keyless start.

The car should not start up again if your foot (feet) isn't on the brake (and clutch). Take your feet off all the pedals, and press the button again.

Thank you so much, Bohme417! You're right....my foot was on the brake....no wonder it started up again.

Sometimes a smart car can be just a little too smart. I've been trying for years to get programmers to write software that does what I want, rather than what I tell it...

Well, the car can be too smart, or the operator can be too . . .

Stay with it, you'll outsmart that car by and by.

Yea, you can start and stop the engine on most MCS.

Even on the R53 the radio stays on until you open the door

I meant the push button start. Will I miss twisting my key for the ignition?

I have a question. For cars without the convenience feature...If the car is running and you eject the key fob, does the car stop running or does it continue running. Is it even possible to eject the fob while the car is running.

I believe the car has to be in park before you can eject the key fob.

Are you asking us if you will have pangs of nostalgia for twisting an ignition key?
