I never tire of blowing past Subarus in blizzards. 175-section WS80s + Compomotives FTW. If only it were three pedal, but it's not my car...

I plowed through some snowbanks this morning that had the snow coming over the hood :D

Great to see the Factory R111 Bullet wheel in black on an R56 Hardtop, most i have seen were on R57 MINI Convertibles.

I bought my '07 S about 2 years ago and had similar concerns. The Subaru dealer where I bought it ran a carfax and it showed 3 outstanding recalls including one for the timing chain assembly, turbo heat shield and electric water pump. I called a Mini dealer and they assured me that all recalls would be repaired at no cost to me! If it was me now, I think I'd get the VIN # of the car and call a dealer to determine if there were any outstanding issues. That said, Minis are built by BMW and as such there are faily expensive to repair. And like any car, they can develop issues. Mine blew the thermostat at 77K and it wound up costing me almost $400, part and labor. Now, the best part. I've owned 2 Miatas, autox'd them extensively and loved them. Fun to drive (great fun on the Dragon) and damn near unbreakable. There are cars older than yours running in Spec Miata today on the original engine and other internals. But, no back seat and limited load space. The Mini can be driven much like a Miata, pedal to the metal, and you'll not be paying lots of speeding tickets. Tis said that it more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. Not that Minis are slow! I have an S and got a great deal on the JCW package (flash, intake, exhaust) for $900 (getting rid of old inventory) installed. The torque steer is most disconcerting! Turn off the "nannies" and it will smoke both front tires! Have fun!
