That's actually the end of the row and the direction folks come through the garage at, they face the car sitting there. Believe me, owning a motorcycle, I know the value of making sure your small vehicle is seen. I did back it up a smidge to get a good shot, as I usually leave room to get into the back if needed. But I do park almost against the parking poles...leaves more room for other cars to not door ding my Mini!

I vote keep the bra on! MINIs are meant to be unique and perhaps this is how the owner wants it to look. Keep on motoring

I don't care much for the bra either but it's the OP's choice and he should be allowed to do as he pleases with his Mini.
Jtanoyo1....Nice car. Unique striping as well.

jtanoyo1, never in my life would those stripes ever adorn any Mini I would own. However, on opening the page and seeing them, I certainly did Oooh and Ahh over them. That's what's cool about Mini's. You can look and love someone elses even though it's not your own style. Yours takes boring common stripes and goes in a different direction, well done!

Those stripes were an inspiration from another guy who had his done reflecting the martini porsche club races. Those stripes got so famous some mini dealership over in UK actually copied it directly off of the guy without his permission and actually took the car on roadshow around the country.

So that was a little history background thre. Anyway, thanks for the comments, all of them.

I am sorry, but the bra needs to go. I know it's an "old school" look, but one that didn't even work back in the day. If you feel the need for nose protection, I'd suggest a clear bra is a much better choice today. As someone that had a bra on his 912 decades ago, the bra actually can damage the paint. Small stones and grains of sand and dirt can get caught between the bra and the car and act like sandpaper to the finish. Also, when the bra was actually popular and automotive paint wasn't good, moisture and sun could cause weird fading and color change issues.

This is an interesting "old school" attempt. Reminiscent of the old Martini Porsches from back in the day. It would work better had the roof also been Pepper White. I am guessing they are Porsche fans based on the Panamera in the background.

Thank you.

I don't have the money for a clear bra... Even with all the mild temps we've been having, the DOT still decides to spread a healthy amount of sand and rock salt on the roads over here. Bra will stay on till mid-March.

Someone else did mention the fact that bras tend to hold grit and moisture. I'd keep an eye on it (under it). I remember years ago having one on a 1969 VW bug and it pretty much ruined my paint. I'm sure they have improved on them today but I'd still check it out. Put lots of coats of wax down.

Thanks for the tip. I asked my body shop guy and he mentioned to wash the car and the bra at least every 2 weeks. Also he mentioned to use scotchgard on the inside felt like fabric to help repel moisture.

That's probably required activity for those living in SoCal, but those of us other parts of the country not so much, especially this time of year with grey rainy days or worse yet frozen precipitation and the need for lots of salt and sand. We learn to live with the grime and wash on the occasional nice day - and hope it will last a day or two.

In utah I used to get a lot of snow and **** on my car so I feel you. especially with salt!! I was lucky that the full service wash next to my work was $35/month for unlimited deluxe car washes (inside/outside) so I just went there like everyday on lunch hahaha

Yea, nothing quite kills the high of seeing your hard work returned in a shining beauty of an automobile quite like pulling out on the road and having every car in front of you sling nastiness from the slush all over your pride and joy. That only happens a couple of times before you fall into the pit of despair and toss in the towel and wish for a 50 degree day.

Hi guys,

Yes, it's a tribute to the old Martini Porsche from yesteryears. Some guy called Rob already did it to his Mini back in the UK and I would like to take this opportunity to give him kudos for inspiring me to do the same.

Here's a picture from today after installing Akrapovic turbo back exhaust, KW coilovers and 17" BBS forged wheels.
