No one here is "stirring up" problems with other members. This is a humurous thread, so anyone is free to take it or leave it.

For some reason my ability to "paste" has been turned off (HTML code).

ok so it must be something wacky with my browser. My "paste"function is suddenly disabled. I'll try my Mac when I get home and see if I experience the same in either Safari or Firefox. Right now I am running Winblows XP and IE7.

I agree with you though - there is a definite similar vibe in the front ends of the cars. I've always loved the Cobra's face, and I was more than a little pleased when I saw the new face of the Mini. Can't wait to see yours together. An enviable pair!

Wow, the more I look at it, the more I think that's a beautiful car. Now I have to go look for some more pics of it. Thanks!

Perfecto amigo!

The Morgan Aero 8 happens when you cross a R53 and R56 and voila!

All kidding aside, if you pay attention the headlights of the Morgan Aero 8 are the same Xenon units used in the R50/52/53 MINI from 2005 and 2006.

Creeeeeepy!

Your thinking of the Morgan Aeromax.

*pulls out magnifying glass*

I have never liked these, even with the MINI headlights (not this older version).

I see you sourced from Flickr!

I've had cases where pasting in Firefox stops working at times. I've just quite Firefox, restarted it, and the problem went away....

I've also had cases where it stopped allowing me to enter a URL. Great browser but stuff like this is frustrating.

I think this is more R56-ish:

There's something more American-looking about the new front. And check out that bonnet gap!

Whew - The vette reminds me of the R53 and the Cobra reminds me of the hood of the R50 and the chin of the R56 MCS. No doubt opinions will differ on this as well.

When I look at the Morgan, I get the feeling that the headlights are the opposite of the R56 - they are facing the center? Am I imagining that, or did they flip the right and left from the way they are mounted on the Mini.

I get R50 for the cobra, but I don't see any R50/R53 in the C1 vette (flattish hood, wide-set headlights angling slightly out, wider squarer grill, soft curves with few creases)

In case you're having trouble telling them apart - the R56 (the new one) is on top, and the R53 (the old Cooper S) is below.

You know, animal predators generally have eyes that face forward for stalking vision whereas prey animals tend to have eyes facing the sides for a wider area field of view to help avoid being pounced on - so is the Mini going from being the hunter to the game?

The bulge in the R53 hood flattens out the hood and there is a vertical surface rising above the grill where the scoop is. That reminds me of the vette as well as the forward oriented headlights, granted the R53's do angle out slightly, but they are much more forward than the R56, and the vettes are dead forward - no angle.

This pops in my head every time someone says the new front looks more "aggressive".

hmmmm, I firmly disagree with you. I don't think you're being objective. We'll have to agree to disagree.

Could have this been the R56 shape that got lost in the shuffle??
