What is the red on the top of the tach?
Maybe I've missed something
along the way but what is this red bit on top of the Tac?
Photo is the from Detriot auto show and was from an 07 MCS.

Thats where you insert the flux capacitor to get some extra jigowatts of performance....

Did you notice if the car had an alarm? Maybe that's where they put the blinking "armed" light.

Cool -- if it is the Flux-capaciter I'd think I'll to go back to 1969 and scare the beegeebers out of Classic mini owners.
I'd love hear what they would say about how the R56 has spoiled the pedigree!

Maybe it's like a turkey temperature guage for the Turbo. It pops when it gets too hot.

It is indeed the alarm indicator. It pulses slowly for the first 16 minutes after locking the car, then pulses using less LED's and at a faster rate after this. It is seriously cool. Makes the car seem alive evn when parked.
