If this price really includes fog lamps and onboard computer, then there is just a $50 increase in the base price. It ends up with a $400 increase by the time the packages are added as they stayed the same price even though the fog lamps and OBC were already on the car.
Strange that DSC is in the premium package as it is also in the sport package. If true, it is not worth getting both packages as DSC is $500 which is more than the savings from buying the components in a package.

MotoringFile is reporting the base model prices have been leaked (Winding Road initial report)

Current Cooper (2006) – Base MSRP: $17,450 + $550 D&H = $18,000
New Cooper (2007) –Base MSRP: $18,050 + $650 D&H = $18,700
Current Cooper S (2006) –Base MSRP: $20,900 + $550 D&H = $21,450
New Cooper S (2007) –Base MSRP: $21,200 + $650 D&H = $21,850
In other words, you’ll shell out $700 more for a base Cooper than you would for the outgoing model and a more reasonable $400 extra for a Cooper S.

Not bad at all. I personally was expecting (fearing) it to be more along the lines of $2500-3000 overall. Kind of looks like I'll be able to spec out a (non-nav) R56 for a similar price as the previous generation MSC.
With France and Germany's configurators up and running, video of the asseblay line up and running, pics of new cars being shipped and US prices being leaked, could it be that we'll be able to order sooner than expected?
I hope, I hope I hope!!!

I asked him, but all he could tell me was that they'll know as soon as they get their allotment numbers. Also a question for those from the New England area: Is the R56 going to be at the NE Auto Show at Bayside Expo in November?

Last I heard the /official/ unveiling of the car in the US was going to be the Detroit show in January.

R56 Info Released (Packages/Pricing/Car Debut)
This seemed like it was too big to not have its own thread.
http://motoringfile.com/2006/10/29/2...ons/#more-5312
MotoringFile has received the info from BMW!
R56 rollout events will be held on Presidents Day Weekend (Feb 19, 2007)
Check the link for all the info. I am pumped but a little buzz killed about the Nav system not being available in March 07 production models. So that means, I would have to have mine built in March and then delivery a month or two later ? Bah.. That is a long long wait =[

It's my first new car ever... so I'm getting all three packages, Redwood Red leather, Sport suspention and whatever stereo upgrade is offered (minus the HD and Sattalite radio). It'll come in in the high $28K mark... but it'll be MY CAR that way. Know what I mean?
