2007MINI Prices

I just read on Autoblog that their person{spy}inside at MINI got the prices on the new car. They are saying that the MINI Cooper will go up 700.00 and the Cooper S will go up 400.00.
How true any of this is, who knows, but if they are right these are the prices.

MINI Cooper 18700.00
MINI Cooper S 21850.00

This is with shipping and handling.
Just figures I would pass this along

Glad the audible alarm is not standard, I'd hate to have to pay for what I consider an unnecessary annoyance.

Probably a getting old thing, but I've noticed that I want fewer and fewer options on any new car I buy. Most of them even come standard with stuff I could do without.

The grossly expensive optional seats do look good though.

San Diego Markup

I spoke with the dealership today and supposedly they will be "forcing" floormats, permaplate (int and ext), and lowjack ON TOP OF a markup on MSRP. The package is $1774.90 now. She mentioned hopefully taking orders in Dec. (although she did not seem too sure of this)
She also mentioned that they will have 12 coming in sometime in Feb.
It sucks to live in the So Cal auto market....

I would have told her I'd be "forcing" myself to buy somewhere else.

I'm actually disappointed the audible alarm is not standard. This means I have to shell out $400 for the dealers to install it.

Resmini,
sorry for the confusion, although your response made me laugh and think how true.
"forced" was my word, not the sales person.
It is one of those things, that all cars through the dealership will have those things.
I was looking at the 07 prius when the full rebate was still in effect. one of the dealerships "forced" chrome rims and window tint....

I'm #7 on the waiting list and some of the options I want won't be in production till March such as NAV and the color line interior. Do you guys know if I can still order the car in december or wait till March to order it?

you need to keep in touch with your MA about ordering specifics. we wouldn't know these details here yet, because the official worldwide release isnt for another 2 1/2 weeks (Nov 18), and I don't expect MINIUSA to have their 07 configurator up for another month after that.

My MA just told me on the phone that the first 2 production runs (900 total cars) for the US would be speced by MINI only and be around by Presidents day. He wasn't totally sure of when they know what these would be but that he would know in advance and that I could look over what they are getting to see if I wanted to reserve one.

He thought, the first customer ordered cars would be ariving in March sometime.

This fits in with the open houses/release parties planned on prezs day holiday weekend for US MINI dealers.

That's not too bad. For some of the options that are in the March production, my MA said I would take delivery of the car in April at the earliest.

Hmm saw the update and sheet there. I know gabe has said LSD will be available and the "Sport Plus Suspension" or whatever it's called will be available seperately as well. But it looks like unfortunately I'll be waiting until march production. (I'm number 26 on the list hopefully all the options I want will be available in the first run)

I just talked to my MA via e-mail. They just received the official pricing today and I am going in this weekend to look at the options. I am hoping I can get in the March Production really early.. I gotta have that Nav System or else I will die! :P

Me too. . . I got to have NAV and HD/Sirius. It would be a lot harder to wait if I didn't live in the north east. Too cold and wet to want the car much before April/May anyway.

Greetings. Question about availability of JCW

First of all, greetings from a soon to be Mini owner. I'm on a waiting list for a new R56 Cooper S. I've always loved the mini, was set to buy the 2006, and then decided to hold off for the redesign. I expect a lot of first model year quirks and issues, but wtf. There seems to be a lot of excellent info here, so I signed up to chat with you all.

I have the car I want to order all planned out, and it includes some of the new JCW components I've seen (wheels, brakes, seats, maybe air filter). My sales guy doesn't seem to know much of anything - definately less than you all. So my question for the board is... does anyone know now if those JCW components are expected to be available with the initial launch? I would probably wait until they are, rather than take delivery early without them.

Thanks, and I look forward to having some fun here.

Will features still be available ala carte?
For example the aero dynamic kit is nice but I'm not interested in paying extra for it. However, I would like the sport suspension on my MCS.

To me its dissappointing that sport suspension is no longer standard on the MCS. This is like an additional 'stealth' price increase over a similarly spec.ed '06 MCS.
