New Autoweek article

Hey All,

I just happened to look in autoweek.com today, and i see they have an article on the 2007 Mini Cooper and Cooper S. Some highlights: smoother ride, increased horsepower (not be much though), larger spedometer gauge. Article stated that new minis will be in the showroom early next year. What do you think?

I don't know if I like it or not....I'm not fond of how they changed the looks of the front of the body. And I'm still undecided about the electric steering and standard suspension they are going to be using. I'm sure it'll make for a smoother ride, but isn't the slight kidney-busting effect of a sport suspension part of the fun of driving??? : )

Here's the link to the story for any new thread posters:

Yeah, overall (engine, steering, handling, performance, etc.), I'll reserve judgment.

But my purely subjective, anthropamorphic reaction to that font end is... My current MCS looks like a sharp young kid giving me a big toothy grin, as in "Weeeeeee." The new model front-end looks like clueless slack-jaw, as in "uhhhhhhh."

Yea, I was thinking it was a bit too small in my MC...

I see that www.autoweek.com has another article posted today. More pictures of what it looks like on the inside are shown. I think I like my '06 better. A dealer at Sterling told me that the convertible will not be offered with the new engine until 2008. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

The front end and rear end are unappealing. The front end is now rounded into sedan car styles and the rear end is too boxy like a SUV.

So glad I have a 06.

I've heard that from many different sources.
