R56 2009 R56 Coolant flush
2009 R56 Coolant flush
Looking for advice. I have a 2009 R56 Base with just over 40k miles and I'm about to have it serviced and i was wondering if i should change the coolant at the same time, i think it's recommended at 50k so I'm thinking It might be best to do it due to age and not mileage.
Purchased just over a year ago with 37k miles and with only driving around 3k mile per year so if i go by the mileage it will be another 3 years before it's due.

If you ask BMW/Mini these cars have lifetime coolant. If you ask the folks who actually make the coolant they typically say 5 years / 150K miles.
Given it's pretty easy to do a coolant change I personally do it every five years.

IMO, it's better to know what's in your vehicle than hoping/guessing. Like you, I bought mine used and, regardless of the diligence of the prior owner, I always assume that the prior owner was an idiot and didn't take care of maintenance. That being said, how do you want to take care of your car? I'm getting ahead of scheduled maintenance, because... Good luck and enjoy the ride.
