General turbo question N18

Question, on the N18. Diverter valve bolts. Did they use loctite when new? Was recommended zinc anti seize but don’t want them backing out.

Any particular grade of bolt recommendations? Got them out but barely, so they need to be replaced.

Have some stainless that I picked up by hillman, but can’t find a grade anywhere, even on their website…

I don't think they need to be hardened. Stainless should be good to help prevent corrosion. The OEM bolts are a allen socket head.

fortunately, I was able to bring the originals with me. Surprisingly, the one on the bottom was the hardest one to get out and not the one on the back, but I’m not complaining.

my concern was how hot it could get, even though it is on the “cool side”

I would’ve preferred going with a different style bolt after my experience removing these, but you’re limited on room
