Vehicle No start No crank

So this am the wife came in and told me the mini wouldn't start / I gave her the other mini and she went to work. Yesterday it was fine no issues, I put the key in yes, in fact, doesn't start however the key on no start does work just nothing when pressing the button, Been doing a lot of reading, and a lot of troubleshooting people show different key issues which display on the vehicles display all which mine doesn't have the only key on the display that shows is a yellow picture symbol of a key no lines through or anything just a key, which I cannot find a meaning to anywhere. The vehicle is a 2009 and I am leaning towards the switch or the clutch safety switch as the starter and battery was changed a year ago. and last No codes were present

Also Is there a particular relay or fuse to check ? None of symbols provide useful information

Any help is appreciated

@boucherjr ,

The battery in your key fob could be going dead.

Yes I thought that too however it locks and unlocks the car with no issues, I may swap it out and see a cheap sanity check

Update

Not as cheap and easy as I thought, I looked at the key, and my gosh! Why sell a car with a fully sealed key FOB, unbelievable

The start stop switches sometime go bad and cannot receive the key. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-position.html

If it locks and unlocks, that would mean that your fob may need to be reprogrammed by a dealer. But still, it's a good idea to have the battery replaced.

Diagnosing this car is a Pain, Had the DME and CAS tested with keys, and they are good to go, they stated there was a code for the steering column to be unlocked I didn't see the light for that but it could of happened when I swapped the Ign switch . To the forum any ideas

Fixed it, the ribbon between the switch and CAS was the culprit
