I recently replaced my thermostat housing since i had a error code (2f07 and e717) and that is now fixed, but now i get three codes that come and go (P112B, P0117, P0118) and my ultra gauge reads all sorts of inacurate temperature for the engine temp from -40 to 285.4 fahrenheit. how would i go about to figure out if its the sensor that has gone bad or the wiring?
Edit: the engine light occasionally comes on and the overheating light also does but does not stay for more than 5 seconds

Those are all related to the coolant temperature sensor. Did you replace the sensor with the thermostat? If not, sounds like either the sensor has a ban connection, or the sensor is going out.

how would i know if its one or the other? ive uplugged it and made sure it was fully plugged in multiple times
There are tests you could run to try and determine one or the other but it's likely cheaper and less trouble to start with replacement of the Sensor - especially if you're not sure how old it is. Do you know how old the Sensor is? When I did my Thermostat assembly with Water Pump I believe my Thermostat came with a new Sensor pre-installed.
I think that the new thermostat housing came with a sketchy CTS since it had no parts number or anything, I bought a oem one over the weekend and just installed it, now it works just fine, but before the install my car would have problems starting.
