you can read temp, but you dont know for sure if it the correct temp...make sure you let the bubbles out of the cooling system. there is also a breather next to the temp sensor, open it a little till the coolant flows out. finally, you might have a faulty thermostat unit!

Yea, might be the thermostat, Check the connection plug on the top of the thermostat housing first.

My check engine light comes on when the outside temp goes above 70 degrees F. It was fine all winter but we had a hot day yesterday and it lit up the dash board. The last time i had it cleared the code seemed to point to a fuel system fault. Any experience with that issue?

Cel

I'll post it a little later if that's okay. There is a shop close to me here that can read the code. I don't have an ODB tool.

Cel

I took the car to a repair shop and interestingly they told me there were no error codes. They did say that there were 3 systems on a list of 10 that were not in a ready state.

i couldn't get the codes. Do I take it back and let them put the thing on a more precision machine or do I take it to Mini and ask them to read the codes?

Let autozone check it for you. Clear it and see if it pops again. Mine did the same few weeks ago and said o2 sonsor. I cleared it and nothing back so far!!!
