Bad Strut Choice??

Just replaced all 4 struts (complete assembly with springs) with Duralast from Autozone. Car now rides TERRIBLE. Very bumpy and harsh - feels like no suspension. Anyone else experience this with these shocks?

Yea,

Those brand are not made for quality for a MINI, they might be too tight or do not dampen to the same weight rates. I dont think they use blocks on the shock body, you would have seen them before install.

I would have went with KONI REDs or Bilstein B4 way before autozone.

Could be the same issue as in the following post. Not sure of the brand, but struts were bought at Autozone for an R56 and the part numbers were incorrect and the poster ended up with Countryman struts which were about 2 inches longer. Does your car look normal, or is it jacked up in the back like the pics from the link in his first post?

I replaced my shocks and struts with Sachs as my old ones were very corroded and I thought Sachs was a good brand and not too sport oriented; however, they are really rough riding and I'm quickly getting tired of the rough ride.

Any recommendations on a softer riding shock absorber?

Koni FSD. They're great: nice and sporty, but they soak up the harshness much better than stock.
