Forged wheel recommendations?

My 2010 R56s is getting retired from daily driver duties and I'm gonna convert it into a track/auto-x car. So I figured I'd look into r-compound tires. The tires are easy enough to find but from what I've seen you also REALLY want forged wheels due to the improved grip levels.
Does anyone have recommendations? I can get a set of Volk TE37's, but $900 a wheel is a bit rich for my blood. I've heard of $500 alternatives but I can't find a 4x100 17/18x8 option.

IMO, don't worry too much about manufacturing method.
As long as the weight is good and it's not some no-name brand knockoff, you shouldn't notice a difference.

I'd look at stuff like the Sparco FF1 in 17x8, or the Konig Hypergram/Dekagram/Countergram in 17x8.
Both are Flow-Formed so they're very strong and very light, plus the price and fitment are right.

17x8 ET45 may need a small spacer up front to clear the strut once a tire is mounted. The wheel lip should clear, the spacer just depends on how meaty the tires are.

Thanks! Yeah I was looking at flow formed since thats the "next best". I've just heard horror stories about hoosiers snapping spokes on cast rims and figured I'd see if there were "affordable" options.
Strange enough, I've hard a hard time finding 17x8 wheels with a 4x100 bolt pattern. I was initially looking at Enkei RPF1's since they're another "go to" wheel, but I'd have to settle for a 16x8 which would impact my ability to install a BBK later on.
Appreciate the help!
PS: Got any tire recommendations?

I don't really have good dedicated autox tire recommendations. I'd probably see what guys in your class run locally and try to do the same as a start.

I ended up with Nankang CR-1 (I think now called the CR-S) on my E30 this year but didn't end up running it at all so I can't say first hand how they work, but others seem to be doing well with them.
Wasn't much logic to it, just needed a weird size and they were in stock. Supposedly they're the same compound as the 100TW AR-1, just stamped as "200TW" for classing - basically cheater tires lol

If you want a good selection of light weight 4x100 wheels, check out the ND Miata section at Goodwin Racing's website:

oh wow I didn't think our wheel sizes overlapped with other cars. This is perfect!
