New slave cylinder leaking

I just replaced the slave cylinder on my R56. I compressed the piston and secured it. My daughter got in the car and I opened the bleeder then she compressed the clutch. I closed the bleeder and she had to lift the pedal off the floor. We did this 2 more times and fluid started coming out of the bleeder. The next time we did it, fluid started coming out of the bleeder and piston boot in a hurry. Now, when the bleeder is closed, fluid comes out of the piston boot. Can this be fixed? Was it a defective slave cylinder?

When I compressed the piston I took it back as far as it would go. Any chance it's compressed too much?

I bought an Autozone slave last year that lasted about 2 days before puking its guts out 5 miles from home. Is your aftermarket or factory? Bad parts happen to everybody.

No such thing compressing too much as it is designed to withstand substantial amount of pressure. Are you using DOT4? Do not use DOT3 on Minis as it causes all sorts of problems

yes, using DOT4. I bought the cylinder from FCP so it has a lifetime warranty. I’ll give them a call today.

That stinks, What was the part number? The ATE/FTE ones are factory and some aftermarkets on the market.

Thank you ECS! I also order from you guys! I think half my engine rebuild came through you. It's FTE. The number on the box is 3100820 KN20021.44. Any thoughts?

Those are the ones, 3100820 crosses over. Just making sure it matched up to the oem. Possible the inner gasket flipped or it was a return that was put to shelf.

Luk one is oem and i will be adding that soon. I thought FTE valeo was OEM on this part and they are not. Usually they are,
