R56 Abs dsc and red brake lights
Abs dsc and red brake lights
Hi all,
For the past few years I have had the ABS, DSC, and Red Brake light on my 2007 r56, and finally decided to try to figure out the problem.
Codes are:
2FF6 - VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL;
5DF7 - INTERFACE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SIGNAL FAULT;
5D8D - WHEEL SPEED SENSOR SUPPLY, FRONT RIGHT;
I just recently purchased a used ABS/DSC module and a laptop with NCSexpert, ISTAD, ISTAP etc. So the codes are coming from there, not a cheapo Bluetooth scan tool.
I sent my mini to shop that I have been using for years; they replaced the front right wheel bearing thinking that it would get rid of the codes and the problem stayed so im down around $200. I brought home the mini, checked the fuses everything looked fine, swapped the front right sensor with the front left sensor cleared codes and still the same code 5D8D. I was hoping that once the wheel speed sensors were switched it would follow but it stayed. I have read a few post on mini2, NAM, and some mini forums that the next best thing to do before replacing the ABS/DSC module is looking at the steering angle sensor located under the steering column. I have read that there might be some correlation between the two for some reason but don't understand how it has anything to with it.
The link I found that gave me this idea: https://www.mini2.com/threads/dsc-ru...-sensor.45536/
Any help would be greatly appreciated I really want to be able to get my car inspected.
