Justa pre-cat O2 sensor

Hi folks.
I'm currently try to solve a pre-cat O2 sensor problem but first I want to make sure I've got the correct sensor fitted.
I've fitted a Bosch sensor, part no 0 258 017 217, which is what my local motor factor supplied. The thing is that this sensor has 5 wires but the harness it plugs into has 6 wires. Can anyone explain this and do I have the correct sensor?
It's a 2007 R56 Cooper non-turbo.
Many thanks.

Yes you have the correct sensor.

The harness for the N12, N16, and N18 pre-cat O2 sensor uses 5 wires, wire 1 ground from DME to sensor heater, 2, power from DME for sensor heater, and 3, three more wires going back to the DME for reference voltage and signal.

The N14 engine has 6 wires (Bentley ELE-45). MINI probably makes one harness for all vehicles to save money.

All post cat O2 sensors have a 4-wire connection.

My local shop recommends the NTK sensor, but the Bosch sensor will work, and I've used Bosch sensors with no issues.
