R56 Upstream O2 sensor
Upstream O2 sensor
Hey all,
I've got a non-S 2007 Mini hardtop and I am attempting to change out the pre-cat O2 sensor. I found this awesome post (mini2.com/forum/second-generation-faults-fixes/257690-how-change-pre-cat-o2-sensor-non-s-r56-cooper.html[/url]) but cannot seem to get the sensor un-clipped from the electrical connection. I can't really see anything, and I'd like to avoid just pull forcefully on it for fear of ruining something else. Does anyone have/know of a place where I can see a pic of how to disconnect this particular style of sensor on this model? I'm a novice DIYer and thought I could handle a simple O2 sensor....I'm good with everything else, just can't get the damn thing disconnected!
Thanks for any tips or pics you've got!

I just replaced my pre-cat O2 sensor on my 2004 MCS. I'm not sure if your model is similar. My O2 sensor is located in the engine compartment about center little towards the rear. The connector is seating on a metal bracket. To dislodge the connector from the bracket twist the connector 90 degrees and gently pull up. I was then able to separate the connectors easily.
