Was driving my car (2010 r56 S 90k) the last month and noticed a stall after giving it some gas. And about a week ago my car went into “limp mode” with a check engine light. Scanned car and came up with three codes which I believe are related to the throttle body. So last week I took off my intake manifold to get at my throttle body to inspect. Didn’t seem to be a bunch carbon inside the throttle body but cleaned what was there. I “did” however notice a good amount of carbon buildup on top of the valves. Got everything back together car seemed to run fine until I went to clear the codes, started acting up again. So maybe it’s something else?
Tomorrow morning I’m gonna set things up to walnut blast my valves. I’m 3D printing the r56 adaptor that bolts up for the vacuum right now. If anyone out there has any suggestions if there’s something else I should do (buy a new throttle body) or any other suggesting would be greatly apprieciated!
p.s. this will be my first time walnut blasting a car. Also any suggesting to tell when the valves are closed besides just looking? Thanks for taking the time to read.
