2007 R56S lean/rich idle and Throttle position codes
2007 R56S lean/rich idle and Throttle position codes
My mini is giving me the following codes.
P2177 - System to lean off idle bank1
P2188 - System to rich at idle bank1
P1638 - Throttle valve position control stuck temporarily
P1637 - Throttle valve position control - Control deviation
And getting a body code, which I can not figure out what it means.
B2AAA
I've been getting the idle codes on and off for awhile, thinking it is due to the K&N filter kit. But the throttle position codes are a more recent issue, and seam to mainly be a issue when the temps get into the single digits or colder. I have to start it a few times before it will remain running, and a few times it has entered limp mode when it is really cold.
Could it just be a dirty mass air flow sensor? Would carbon build up lead to any of these problems? I also found a thread one afternoon on the intake manifold causing the throttle position codes I was getting awhile back.

Sounds like the throttle position codes could be from the throttle body sticking. Could be caused by moisture freezing the throttle plate momentarily. If that happens, it can cause a rich mixture and by the time the plate frees up the ECU is already trying to compensate by leaning out the mixture. Just an uneducated guess.
