No power to dash

Newbie to Mini here but not new to auto repair by any stretch of the imagination. That being said....

I bought a non running 2007 S about 9 months ago. Seller had installed a new timing chain set...improperly...and bent exhaust valve. He said the car ran great before he decided to take care of the chain rattle by installing new components. Battery was dead in the car and it had been sitting for a month or so.

Fast forward to now... I finally had the time to work on it last week. New exhaust valves and new timing components installed correctly using cam locks and crank lock pin. New battery. Installed the original key and the only a couple lights illuminate on the dash and are pictured below. Windows operate, sunroof tries to operate, hi beams will flash when prompted to, hazards operate.

Ordered new key from Mini dealer.....same scenario. Ordered a new ignition switch that will arrive tomorrow. Hopefully the switch is the issue, but......

Anyone experience anything similar?
