If it is the seats.... Hard to beat the value and choices of
Leatherseats.com
(you can do it yourself with basic tools and some diligence.... OR... any upholstery shop can install them for you if you take out the seats... and save some serious cash)
lots of colors, combos, Premium-leather, std leather More like OE-MINI, or Vinyl (Better than OE-MINI)
They also have a lot of good tech info on their youtube. channel... https://www.youtube.com/c/LeatherSea...rt=p&flow=grid
Thanks a lot for that info. I actually had contacted the leather store about their products also.
I was trying to get something to match the (CornSilk Leather) I Actually Bought A Mini Cooper
GOODWOOD EDITION
Here's what I believe to be accurate info from looking into this color, Cornsilk, PZR2 color-code, last year.
From what I've found... this PZR2 is a Rolls Royce leather tanned by Connolly...
You probably won't find a perfect match outside of going with SUPER expensive leather matching services... or Rolls specialists... figure 2 hydes... at about $1500-$3500 per/hyde.
You may find something similar at Global Upholstery supply... http://www.globalupholstery.com
You could send them one of you headrests... and see if they can come up with a close leather.
The leather that came in the GW was really top end stuff... you'll be very challenged to find anything on a budget for your car that is a close match for color/grain/hand.
Leatherseats.com works with Hydes Leather supplier.. (Upholstery Trades only)... maybe they would be open to working with you on a custom basis through their bespoke program... but be prepared to pay a healthy sum.
From a collector standpoint with your GW and re-upholstery ... anything that is not original BMW/Mini will detract from the car regardless of quality in terms of resale.
The budget way to go might be to settle for a "good enough" match from Leather seats.com... Go with their standard leather... which, in my experience is better than any of the leather that Mini Used, except for the GW. Or the Ecstasy leather option which might rival the Connolly or even better it.
The standard leather has the largest option list for colors. ... going with the 100% leather option would be pretty great... and go with the full front and rear kit for a good match on the seats.
At less than $2000 for the front and rear seats... this may be your best option... It certainly will be your least expensive.... any good automotive upholstery shop should be able to install them for probably $500. You can also do it yourself.. but takes a steady hand... lots of patience... some basic tools... and a steamer for great results.
I have full Connolly leather interior (6 Hydes) in my Jensen Interceptor Convertible ... as far as the "Best" leather in the world...Connolly is a top end product... but there are better out there.
I really appreciate the input. I'm definitely going to keep the vehicle it's not going to be for sale.
Even if I can get the interior touched up that wood be good. It was bought with some stains in the interior
which is a no go for me. I seen a couple of videos of people spraying the leather but I really don't know
about that. I don't want to destroy the interior totally.
NAM changed a while back and now you can upload pics when posting without needing an external link/host. Hopefully that eliminates broken links and missing pictures in threads in the future.
I think you can clean those to a very satisfactory level... you will need a good steam cleaning machine... can't hurt...
I've seen worse come out looking ready for the car show.
Check out this young man on Youtube... He's got a lot of practical advise for cleaning this stuff... Also... check out the leatherseats.com youtube page... especially the vids about using steam on foam to bring it back... and about the use of heat on leather. I've been doing detail work on cars as a hobby and with Yachts as business for many years of my adult life... care and patience go a long way !!
With a small investment and some time... you can do a way better job than most detail shops can (because you will take the time needed)
I really appreciate all the support y'all are giving me trying to get this back together. They was a lot worse before I started working on them.
I really don't know what the previous owner did to the vehicle or what happened. I'm going to post pic's of the car today and the before
pics of the seats.
