R56 Help please!
Help please!
Hello all,
I have a 2007 Mini S with little over 100K on it. Last couple of times I have driven the car I noticed that under acceleration it felt like I had some hesitation. Well today on the way into work this morning I felt the hesitation again but all the sudden I felt complete loss of power. I pulled off the road and the car had died. I tried to start it again and it sounded like I wasn't getting fuel as the car would turn over but not start. I gave it a couple of tried and the same issue, it would turn but not start. I checked the codes and I had the following.
P1497
P2187
P0340
P0341
B2AAA
I'm almost thinking the HPFP took a dump but I'm wondering if that would all the sudden happen like this and the car just die like it did. Looking at some of the codes they seem like they might be linked to the HPFP but some show the camshaft position sensor. Would this kill the car like that?

I think you are dealing with two separate issues, which happen to occur at the same time.
Your first two codes are related to unmetered intake air. That means you have a manifold leak somewhere. My guess is the PCV tube that goes from the rear of the cam cover to the intake manifold is cracked. They are cheap plastic, and should be replaced if it is still original. Too much unmetered air, and the engine will run lean, or not at all.
The last three codes are related to the intake cam position sensor. The sensor code have gone out. Your last code I found as a BMW hex code. Ignore the "B" on the beginning and search for "2AAA". If the ECU cannot determine the position of the intake cam, the engine won't run.
I used this as a reference:

So I replaced the Cam position sensor and the car is still not starting. I can hear the engine turning but it doesn't sound like its getting fuel. I ran the code reader again and got the following codes. is there a way to test the HPFP?
U114B
U115B
U115E
U3FFF
P1776
P1777
U114B
U115B
U115E
U3FFF
P1776
P1777
From what I can research, those U codes are a loss of signal to the torque control module, which I believe to be the VANOS system. If that's the case, I would expect the engine not to run.
The last two P codes are related to the two front wheel speed sensors.
