Just picked up a cheap project R56. I gave a quick description in my 1st Gear intro.
Anyway, I pulled the stock air intake out and found this janky repair underneath. What is this line for and where is it supposed to be routed/located? It doesn't look cut. What kind of fitting should it actually have?

Sorry looked at pic on computer and I see the tube. Hold on it will take me a minute on https://www.newtis.info/
The big air duct is for an air filter and MAF. The electrical connection is for the MAF.
The little line with clamps is part of item 3 in this RealOEM pic ---
It's definitely a vacuum line, but not for a boost gauge or DV, strictly part of the WG actuator system, from the vacuum pump.
OK so I pulled the intake manifold tonight. Previous owner basically had the vacuum lines bypassing the pressure converter and vacuum tank. Picked up some new hoses from someone parting out another R56.
My issue now is the lines going to the vacuum tank won't stay. The nipples on the tank don't have lips and the hoses just slide off easily. I tried small the smallest hose clamps I could find with no success. There is no way I can reinstall the intake manifold without those hoses disconnecting from the tank. Any suggestions on how to secure them on there?
If there’s enough room, could get an
inch or so of new hose that’s tight
enough to stay on and splice it with
one of those connectors with grabby
tangs on both ends.
The rubber has most likely been contaminated with oil and has swollen up and slipping off. It is only a couple of inches on the end of some plastic tubes. Get new rubber. I had to do the same. The oil is probably coming from the vacuum pump where there is a check valve in the lower brass fitting port. If it gets stuck it allows the system to suck oil into the reservoir. I removed my reservoir and poured out the oil, flushing it with brake cleaner after I rebuilt the vacuum pump (easy), replaced the rubber as mentioned and had a fully functioning turbo contol system again.
Oh, and since you have the intake off, did you walnut blast the intake valves?

Thanks you're exactly right about the rubber swelling from the oil. I cleaned up the tank and replaced the rubber ends.
No, did not do any carbon cleaning. Was just straightening out the wastegate lines.
Last thing before I button this up. What hose am I missing on next to the crankcase vent hose (red arrow)? Looks like it might route down under the car (blue arrow)? It was already missing when I started taking things apart.
