Pull to inflate...

Its just for shipping, pull it out and replace it with the plug in the Baggy included. Its pictures below the valve cover in this pic below.

Thank you for the response. The reason I'm asking is I saw this on the cover of my mini, but it has not been pulled, was that way when I got the car, and I don't have the appropriate plug. Should I try to find a plug and pull this out and replace?

Yep that red plug might get bumped and wiggle out. Then you might get a vacuum leak code.
We are the only people that have it on its own for people that forget to replace it.

Why would that plug not even be already installed on the cover?

The older original valve covers like the one on my 08 don't have the port so no plug. As ECSTuning states it is for other applications. I have seen instructions somewhere that you just cut off the loop with some wire cutters. The port isn't really presurized so the plug stays in place. It is to keep the PCV system vacuum tight so no big deal. Use some black paint if the red bothers you.

That's funny, when I pulled my intake manifold this little plug was sitting on one of the bolts. Now I know what it's for...

So, other than the chance it might fall out there is no reason to pull it out and replace it?

Chance as last time when i replaces mine it was in there (pulls out easy) and if not removed it hits most intakes and aftermarket intakes even sit closer to it. I had an AEM intake system on my MINI and its comes very close to that plug part. If i did not have the black plug in it would not fit with that red thing there unless you trimmed it all the way down.

I have not addressed this as of yet, had other things to take care of. Is there any harm in leaving it as is for awhile? Why is shipping $8.00 for such a small part?

Hello,

Should be ok as long as it does not fall out or get bumped. Thats our flat rate or staring shipping rate. if you build an order to 49.00 you get the free shipping.

We have a MINI E support, need to add that to the drop down and we support BM i3 and i8. Maybe in the future. We can get about anything for any car with all our connections. Just contact us and one of the sales guys can track it down or PM me.

Same thing. It makes your MINI grow when you pull it.

BTW we have the N18 Engine valve covers here: https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Sit...8_valve_cover/

Recently bought the valve cover from you guys. A must over 50k miles it seems. The oil cap seems a bit loose with the new cover. Any suggestions?

Hello,

Might be the gasket itself. or you did not crank down on it all the way, the aftermarket ones seem to have to be turned a little tighter. Try that first.
