Don't know about anybody else here but, I've had a real craving lately for a nice little Cooper S adorned in Candy Apple Red. I know that it's not one of the colors currently available but, do any of you think we'll ever see such a color offered by the folks at MINI? After all, we've already got an Elecetric Blue to marvel at.....could Candy Apple Red be another choice soon?

How would candy apple red compare to chili red? Would it be lighter, brighter, pinker? I think the chili red is a PERFECT red for the MINI. Very classy, very classic-sports-car. I love it!

it would be close to the VR that is out now but more spaced out lke the electric blue. but i know candy colors are hard to paint and hard to match a fix in them. it might be too much to get a true candy factory color. but it would be nice. and no not all reds are red

Have you seen Audi red? I saw an Audi TT in red. It was so nice. I wish that Mini red looked the same, then there would be no question as to what color I would order.

The Audi red--like the Jetta red--is a true, blue-red. Which is actually what I've always understood candy apple red to be. I've never heard of a metallic candy apple red. The chili red is nice, but a bit too orange-red for me. Doesn't suit my complexion

If candy-apple red is ever an option, you'll hear about it here years before it happens. Every single MINI rumor gets aired here which, overall, is a great thing if not a little maddening at times. I think Powder Blue and Orange for the convertible are next up. Before your favorite colors come out, its far more likely that used MINIs (3-4 years old maybe?) will make trips to the paint shop for re-do.

Candy Apple Red most likely will never happen. Candy Apple Red, by definition, is red basecoat with a red candy (kinda like a transparent red clearcoat that looks like well... red hard candy?) over top. I dont think we'll see a finish as fancy as this from the factory.
